About the Mediator

My name is Jessica Burkett and I have been a licensed attorney practicing in the State of Texas for more than 15 years. I have represented hundreds of litigants in family law cases in multiple counties in the state. I decided to practice family law because it was important for me to have a practice that helped families. I have found in my practice that most families are helped by working on an agreement to settle their legal issues.

Mediation is the best way to reach that agreement. While I have loved representing families in litigation, I believe that I can be most useful helping people reach an agreement that meets the unique needs of their family or situation. I understand that every party has a choice of mediator and I take the confidence placed in me by litigants and attorneys very seriously and will work tirelessly to settle each case.

On a personal note, I am married and have two adult sons. I have lived in Texas for most of my life, moving here as a small child. I am a child of divorce so I understand the issues facing families who find themselves in the legal system. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and travelling.
